George graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a degree in chemistry and immediately enlisted in the Air Force. During World War II, he proudly served as a second lieutenant in the medical corps as a supply officer, stationed at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
After the war, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee, and was employed at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, then Plough Inc. In his spare time, he loved to travel and was an avid golfer and gardener. He spent many happy hours with his friends on the golf course while perfecting his game. George also enjoyed working in his garden and his roses were beautiful.
Special thanks to Dorothy Pointer, SouthernCare Hospice, and Comfort Keepers. Their kindness and compassion is greatly appreciated.
