Geneva Walton

Geneva Chase Walton, born August 22, 1922, in Miami, OK to Asa Russell Chase and Elsa Armenda Chase, died December 25, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Memphis. She lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and California and met William B. Walton when he was stationed at the Air Force base in Henderson, NV. They married October 21, 1944. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, the Duration Club and treasurer of the Memphis Stock Club. She was the beloved wife and companion to her husband during the growth years of Holiday Inns, a gracious hostess to many large corporate parties at their home in Germantown. She was his travel companion during his years of representing the travel /tourism teams in Europe and Asia. She is survived by her four children, William Bowen Walton V, Richard Russell Walton, Katherine Walton Person, and Geneen Walton O'Bryan; and three grandchildren, Chase, Spence, and Lee. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 30, at Second Presbyterian Church Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Samaritan's Purse, P. O.
