Elizabeth Clark Jack, "Betty", age 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 after a brief illness. A loving wife, Mother, and grandmother, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Kenneth Jack. She leaves behind her daughter Mary Shelley (grandsons Jack and Cole Ritchey), and son and daughter-in-law Evans and Kendall (grandsons Davis and Dex Jack). She is also survived by her brothers-in-law William C. Moore (nieces Rene Ladd and Lisa O’Donnell), and Michael E. and Ann Jack.
Betty was originally from Tipton County and graduated from Byars Hall High School in Covington, TN. She Graduated from The University of Mississippi where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was married for 61 years. She was an avid tennis player all of her life and spent many years entertaining guests at their house on Horseshoe Lake. She enjoyed making memories with family and close friends. Her passion for life, family and commitment to her faith, church, and many civic organizations will long be treasured.
The family will receive friends at visitation, on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119. A graveside service will occur, on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 11458 TN-59, Mason, TN 38049. A memorial service celebrating Betty's life will follow at 2:00 PM, at Idlewild Presbyterian Church, 1750 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104.
The Family suggests Memorials be sent to Idlewild Presbyterian Church, Les Passees, or the Memphis Botanic Gardens.
