Elizabeth M. "Betty" Brown, who was 81, went to be with Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2018. A lifelong Memphian, she was the daughter of the late William A. & Doris W. Medaris. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Messick High School, class of 1952. She has been a member of Colonial Baptist Church for 47 years where she was the financial clerk and fed the children's department for 43 of those years.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, April 18 from one o'clock until her funeral service begins at two o'clock in the afternoon, all will be at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Brown. Betty is survived by her daughter, Debra B. (Trent) Marsh; son, William R. (Beth) Brown; brother, William (Agnes) Medaris; granddaughters, Lindsay (Erik) Walton, Lacey (Charles) Jones, and Emily Brown; and her first great-granddaughter, Amelia Claire Walton. Any financial gifts in Betty's honor may be sent to Youth Villages of Memphis.
