Eleanor C. Bonds

Baba is survived by her son Roland Bonds and wife Linda of Jonesboro, AR, with grandchildren Paige Woods, Chad Dennis, and great-grandson Cody Dennis. Daughter Linda Kay Marshall of Memphis, TN. Granddaughter Sherry Bonds Pillsbury and husband John of Rosemark, TN, with great-grandchildren Jennifer Burnett and husband Joe, Carrie Glover, and Jessica Pillsbury. Grandson Eddie Bonds and wife Susie of Smyrna, GA with great-granddaughter Rachel Neill and husband Alex. Grandson David Bonds and wife Laura of Paragould, AR with great-grandchildren Marie Bonds, Cameron Bonds, Robert Younger, Ryan Younger, and Caleb Bonds. She is also survived by seven great-great-grandchildren, including Paxton and Caleb Burnett. She is preceded in death by her husband Conlee Lloyd Bonds of Bartlett, TN, grandson Kevin Marshall of Bartlett, TN, grandson Donald Bonds of Bartlett, TN, and great-grandson Ryan Bonds of Kennesaw, GA.

Baba was born on October 11, 1915 in Lafayette County, MS. She attended school in Lafayette County, and then married Conlee Bonds, her high school sweetheart. After moving to Memphis, Baba began working in a dry cleaning business and eventually established a career as a salesperson for Lowenstein’s. Baba will be remembered as a kind, gentle, patient, driven homemaker with a love of cooking and gardening.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN. The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 10:00 am at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN. Interment will be held in Memphis Memory Gardens.
