Dwight Thompson

Herman Dwight Thompson, Jr., 88, passed away August 28, 2021. Dwight was an Elder at Berclair Church of Christ and greatly enjoyed serving there. He was very proud of his service with the Army and the Army Reserve. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, Herm Thompson and Minnie Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Thompson; daughter, Sandy Love; son, Phillip Thompson (Sara); grandchildren, Katherine Love, T.J. Thompson, and Beth Thompson; and sister, Ivous Sisk (Gene). A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, September 4, at 1pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2pm all at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122. A private burial will take place at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
