Dorothy Tilson Smith of Memphis, retired vice president or Smith & Wells Pest Control, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the age of 99. She was a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church for more than 85 years, where she taught preschool and helped with her husband George Tate Smith leading the youth group. She and her husband loved to spend time fishing mostly at Bear Creek Lake every chance they could. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years George Tate Smith and a sister Carolyn Dacus. She leaves her daughter Maryan Brown and husband Ronald of Baltimore, MD, one granddaughter Sharon Banks and her husband William, one grandson Mark Brown and his wife Barbara , and four great grandchildren. There will be a gathering of family and friends from six o’ clock until eight o’ clock, on the evening of Sunday, July 19, 2015, with a funeral service to be held the following morning at ten o’clock, Monday, July 20, 2015, all to be held at Memphis Funeral Home., 5599 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119.
