Dorothy D. Hamilton

Dorothy Dolores Hamilton, 87, passed away October 30, 2017. She was a parishioner at St. Philip Catholic Church of Somerville, a Dominican Associate of the St. Catherine Kentucky Dominicans and a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Hamilton, her parents, Joseph Wappel and Theresa Hart Wappel; two sisters, Teresa Pier and Mary Klein; three brothers, Frank Wappel, Lou Wappel and Herman Wappel.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Anne (Michael) Chiozza, Therese (Keith) Dugard, Clare Hamilton and Margaret Werkhoven; two sons, Philip Hamilton and Tim Hamilton, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday November 3, 2017 from ten o’clock in the morning until service time. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at eleven o’clock all at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3863 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38122. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mrs. Hamilton may be offered to Ave Maria Nursing Home.
