Dorothy Mae Dockery

Dorothy Mae Payne Dockery, 90, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014. Out of her marriage five children were born. She was preceded in death by her daughter Julia Faye Dockery, son Atty. Danny Kay Dockery, a sister Alma Flynn, and a brother Claude Terry Payne. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons Odis (Margo) Dockery, Dave T. Dockery, Flynn Payne Dockery, two sisters Jacquline Pugh of Memphis, TN, Constance Lee of Atlanta, GA, one brother C.P. Payne Jr. of Largo, MD, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends who loved her. Mrs. Dorothy Mae Payne Dockery was born to the late C.P. Payne Sr. and Julia Payne. She was a teacher with the Desoto County School District and Memphis City Schools for a total of 37 years where she touched many lives. She was a devoted Christian and a member of St. Matthew’s Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at Memphis Funeral Home 5599 Poplar Avenue on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 12:00. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at from 5-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel.
