We are saddened to announce the passing of Dennis Harry DeMarco of Memphis TN. He was born October 11, 1942 in Dolgeville NY. He passed away on August 17, 2022. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony & Rose as well as his eldest daughter, Maria DeMarco Stafford.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Sharon DeMarco ; his daughter, Theresa Galvis (Cesar), his daughter, Elizabeth Fournier (Christopher) ; his grandchildren, MaryBelle Stafford, Natalia and Pilar Galvis, & Dennis and Olivia Fournier; his three brothers, David, Donald, & Douglas, plus countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dennis joined the U.S. Navy and became a submariner on the USS Grouper from 1962-1966. He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo with a degree in Education. This lead him to a lifelong career in teaching. Dennis was a lover music, dancing, painting, and history. He was an avid reader and a true admirer of the great outdoors and animals. Dennis was known for his cooking skills and a true love of food. Dennis was the very best father to his daughters, a fun loving grampa, & a loving husband.
Dennis will forever be singing a tune, cracking a joke, or showing us in his special way that he is still with us. He will be immensely missed by so many.
Visitation for Dennis will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10AM until 10:50 AM with Military Honors and Mass to follow at St. Ann Catholic Church 6529 Stage Rd, Bartlett, TN 38134.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St Jude's Children's research hospital and/or the Alzheimer's Assoc.
