Debbie Smith James, 57, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017. She was once employed by Holiday Inn receiving Employee of the Year award and a longtime member of Grimes United Methodist Church. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Robert Fulton Smith and granddaughter, Aurora. She is survived by her mother, Mattie Smith; daughter, Caitlin James; son, John James; two brothers, Robert W. Smith (Tina), Thomas Lee Smith (Laura); and numerous nieces and nephews. A reception with fellowship will be held Friday at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. from 12 pm to 2 pm with funeral service to begin at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens on Raleigh-LaGrange Rd. In lieu of flowers all memorials may be sent to Grimes United Methodist Church.
