David is preceded in death by his wife Judy G. Compton, and a daughter, Audrey Annette Compton of Memphis, TN. He has 7 children, Tina Thompson, Marvin Compton, Jon Compton, all of Memphis, Veronica Stewart, Monica Compton-Armstrong, both from Mississippi. Margaret Cox from East TN. He has 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 foster children, and 8 other related children. Pallbearers will be Caleb Canterberry, Zachary Canterberry, Jacob Compton, Joseph Compton, Michael Compton, Patrick Bond, Steven Compton-Armstrong, and Brad Thompson. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5-7pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10am at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122 with interment to immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119.
