Corinne Standefer Smith, 80, of Collierville, went home to be with the Lord she served and loved on May 5, 2013. She was born in Memphis and spent almost her entire life in Memphis and Collierville, Tennessee. She attended the Training School, was a graduate of Central High School and attended Memphis State University. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Cecil "Snooky" Vincent Smith. Together they raised five children and founded Cecil Smith Insurance Agency, now known as Smith-Berclair Insurance. She spent over 30 years involved in building the business with her husband before retiring in 1999. For over 40 years she has been deeply involved in many different ministries at Central Church. She was a key leader and teacher of Precept Ministries, led many small groups and served as a mentor to many women of all ages until her sudden death. She served on the board of the Central Church Women's Ministry and she joyfully and faithfully served for many years as the Co-Chairman of the Greeter's Ministry there. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Corinne is survived by her children: Sherrie Davis (Herb), Brad Smith (Cathy), Kenny Smith, Stan Smith (Candi), Vince Smith (Debbie) and daughter-in-law Ramona Balducci. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Rose Pace, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Buna Ann and Bob Hudson. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Corinne's family and friends will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 6 to 8 pm at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, May 10, at 10 am at Central Church in Collierville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to Central Church Women's Ministry, Calvary Rescue Mission, or Memphis Union Mission.
