Charles Glenn Smith, tremendous husband and father, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 22, after a long struggle with dementia. He is survived by his one and only loving wife of 64 years, Mary Jo Smith; their 3 children, Debbie King, Joey Smith (Karen) and Jeff Smith (Dede); their 5 granddaughters Michelle Somma (James), Devlin Smith, Lauren Smith, Kasey Dixon (Paul), and Kelly Jones (Drew); 3 great granddaughters, 12 beloved nieces and nephews, and siblings Bobby Smith of Beech Bluff, TN and Robbie Stanfill of Henderson, TN.
Born January 4, 1931, in Henderson, TN, to Vivian and Clifford Smith, Glenn spent his young life bailing hay and driving mules. Drafted during the Korean War, he served in Germany driving industrial tractors for road construction. After returning home, he graduated barber college and spent 60 years using his talent to serve naval personnel and civilians. Glenn was unfailingly kind, eternally proud of his family, and provides an example of a life well lived. Well done thou good and faithful servant. Matthew 25:21
