Charlotte and Jerry, Moma filled the room whenever and wherever she was❤️  While she’s no longer with us physically, there are infinite moments to cherish and forever keep her in our spirits.

Charlene and I met making mud pies at age 5.  We grew up next door to each other.   We did everything together including  dressing alike, getting into trouble, getting punished, you name it.  I was maid of honor at her wedding.   I had so many pictures of Charlotte that my soon- to- be-husband thought she was my daughter that I just hadn’t mentioned yet.  Whenever I came home to Memphis we got together and reminisced about the good times.  And we would talk across the miles on the phone for hours.  We vacationed together twice. We also made plans for the future.  She visited me in Dayton several times and was going to come again when the pandemic ended.  I guess we’ll  get together another time.  Rest in peace my dear friend.   And to Jerry, Charlotte, and Jerry, Jr.,  Carl and I pray for your peace.

Losing a mother is never easy and it is something you  never get over. 
Charlene was a beautiful lady inside and out. When I first met Charlene I loved   her contagious smile and laughter, it was just like her daughter ‘s Charlotte.  Over the years we would get together for family occasions and always had a blast. Each time we met no matter what the occasion, we were family. She will truly be missed. 
God grant our family the peace and tranquillity for this trying time and thank you for blessing us as a family.  I know Charlene is another  angel that will be watching over us!  Love you Charlotte 


I have wonderful memories of Charlene as we became family with the marriage of my brother Ray Thomas and her daughter Charlotte.   Through the years we witness their family grow and shared memorable family gatherings and happy occasions.

Our last family gathering was in Dallas, as she attended her granddaughter‘s college graduation.  I remember how happy and proud she was !

She will be missed!  I am sure that Charlene is enjoying her new home with our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am praying  that the family finds peace and consolation through our love for one another,  in Jesus’ name.   Amen 🙏 


Dear Banks Family,
I’m praying strength and favor from GOD to you all as Charlene has transitioned on to be with The LORD. I’m fortunate that she considered me as her friend the short time I worked at Macy’s Shoe Dept with her. Every-time we’d see each other or talked on the phone I’d holler her name “CHARLENE” and she’d smile, giggle, and hug each other is tight like it’s been years . She made my days there fun and she said the same about me because we had so many stories to tell. Charlene had strong emphasis and animations on her really good stories that made me holler and stomach cramped when her finger got to waving and her head got to going with it! And don’t let her body get into it! But when she talk about her children and grand children we weren’t going to be making any money then cause money didn’t matter to her more than raising her family up in Praise. Charlene was love and is loved in The Loving Hands of GOD!, Amen Hallelujah!  She made it!

Condolences to the family and loved ones of Mrs.Banks. I remember as a kid seeing such a regal woman casually wave and smile as she drove past us outside. The best memory is how she laughed at my big Brother Jason’s attempt to comb my hair so he and Jerry could practice band steps! She made sure to tell me I was still cute! Kind words that I NEVER forgot.

Charlene was one of the sweetest person I have ever really known, Although I had not seen Charlene in seem like forever I have always though about her from child hood and her marriage which to me was a match made in heaven. All the blessing that can be bestowed on anyone I wish them for Charlene.

Some of my fondest memories shared with you, is you teaching Jerry and I how to tell time:

I can remember getting out of band practice and Moma Banks was our ride home...

If practice ended at 5:00, that Cadillac was rolling at 5:05 with or without Jerry and I...

Needless to say numerous days we walked home after missing our ride😂😂😂

Moma Banks was always on a tight timeline and if we wanted a ride we were also🤔

One among many lessons learned from a dynamic spirit, loving, giving and most assuredly-uniquely Mrs. Charlene Banks❤️

We will miss and always love you, rest well until we meet again.

My condolences to the Banks family, Aunt Charlene you were loved dearly, and you were a great influence on my life as a young mother and wife. I loved the advice you gave me about how to raise my kids and how to just be a good person. You lived a saved life and loved Jesus Rest Well Queen🙏🏽
