Brett Gamlin Andrews, 57 of Memphis, Tennessee passed away May 2, 2021 after a lifelong battle with Type 1 Diabetes. He was born March 21, 1964 in Eupora, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Love Andrews and Patricia Peterson Gillispie and his daughter, Kayla Grace Andrews.
He is survived by his wife, Christina Hill Andrews; his son, Charles Patrick Andrews and his daughter, Sarah Anne Andrews; two brothers, Charles Andrews (Karen) and Craig Andrews (Rebecca) as well as his sister, Alyce Andrews Swanson (Brodie). He is also survived by his step-father, Warren Gillispie and his step-mother, Linda Stone along with a host of wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and their children.
Brett's favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, old muscle cars, like his beloved '79 Chevy Camero, sports, UT football and 70's hard rock. He spent most of his work life in the auto parts business, with the last fifteen years being at Wolfchase Toyota, where he will be sorely missed. He spent most of his life in Memphis, with a brief stay in Southern California. While there, he missed the southern great outdoors and his favorite fishing hole. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00pm with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place immediately after at Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Brett's memory be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
