Billy Wayne Huddleston

Bill W. “Billy” Huddleston, 69, passed away on October 10, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valerie and Lamar Huddleston, and his sister-in-law, Sheree Huddleston. Billy is survived by his loving wife, Linda, and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 21st. Billy graduated from Kingsbury High School in Memphis where he played basketball and was on the state championship baseball team. He continued his love for sports in later life as a golfer, snow skier, runner, biker, and tennis player. Billy earned his bachelor’s degree from Memphis State University. Billy retired from IBM as a vice president of sales, training, and marketing. He then joined Linda in the residential and commercial real estate business and land development. For many years Linda and Billy loved to travel and went all over the world. Their many trips with family and very dear friends took them to Africa, Asia, the Middle East, virtually every country in Europe, and a large portion of North America. Billy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas, and as his health declined, his “church family” stepped in and they were a true example of Christian love and support.

Survivors include: his brother, Larry Huddleston, of Cedar Hill, Texas and his sister, Debbie H. Bailey (Kirk), of Memphis, his brothers-in-law, Bill Harrison (Jamie), of Alpharetta, Georgia, and George Harrison (Jean), of Saulsbury, Tennessee. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews: Blake Huddleston (Kim) of Southlake, Texas, Brent Huddleston (Susan) of Dallas, Texas, Brian Bailey (Katie) of Dallas, Texas, Brice Bailey (Stephanie) of Memphis, Tennessee, Brian Harrison of Franklin, Tennessee, Wendi Mihalko (Marc) of Memphis, Tennessee, Ashley Moss (Franklin) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Trey Harrison (Dawn), Kevin Harrison (Connie) all of Alpharetta, Georgia and 16 great nieces and nephews (with another one on the way)

A memorial service will be Saturday, October 15th, at 10 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home with a Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
