Beverly K. West

Beverly K. West, 71, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Ms. West loved to go to the casinos and play slot machines, going out to eat, taking car rides and going shopping. She was the owner and operator of Albert’s Cabins Motel in Millington for over 35 years. Ms. West was preceded in death by her mother, Katie Hart. Surviving is her daughter, Suzanne (Marty) Peters of Horn Lake; her son, Larry L. (Gina) Doerr of Bartlett; 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Weslee, Katie, and Logan; and one great- granddaughter, Layla. Her extended family includes a “second daughter” Tammy, and her three children, William, Austin, and Bryce; her caregivers, Sandra “Moondog” Balton, and Sandy Naylor; and her best friend and companion “Sissy Dog” aka: “the little fat one.” The family will receive friends Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel from 5 – 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be at the Poplar Chapel, Monday, March 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. The family encourages all friends to attend. The family requests that memorials be sent to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
