Bertha "Bertie" Irene Goldsmith

The daughter of Robert and Myrtle Hopper, she was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on March 22, 1935.

She loved her 35 years working at Union Planters where she retired in 2003. After she retired, she enjoyed volunteering at West Clinic and spending time with her Scottish Terriers, Laddie & Murphy!

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Benjamin, and her siblings: Lillian Hopper, Audrey Culp, Edith Vachon, and Ralph Hopper.

She leaves her sons, Noel (Pam), Harry (Jenny), and Scott (Evelyn). Bertie loved her four grandchildren with all her heart, Michael (Angela), Zach, and Luke Goldsmith, and Katie Sanders (Jordan). She loved being Grandma-Great to Jaedyn Goldsmith, Skyelynn and Ellie Sanders.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, June 14th beginning at nine o'clock in the morning until funeral services begin at ten o'clock all at Memphis Funeral Home located at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Clinic of Memphis, Tennessee.
