Annie Jo Wilson entered into this life on March 31, 1933, in Ghent, Kentucky, of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lester and Arietta Wood.
Annie, 80 died Tuesday, January 07, 2014 at 5:04 am at Methodist Hospice in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a lifelong Christian and saved at a young age. Annie spent her life with her children after her retirement. She was a very loving and devoted mother who always crafted gifts for her children, siblings, and grandchildren.
She enjoyed living as a homemaker with her daughters residing in Memphis. She was preceded in death by siblings Patsy Root, Joy Wood, Tony Wood, Nikkiola Wood, and great-granddaughter Tikierra Williams and great-grandsons, Mali and Desmond O’Banion.
Our homes are full of beautifully handmade gifts from Annie, including pillows, curtains, paintings, homemade cards, Christmas gift bags and gift tags, and cookbooks. She loved country music, dancing, cooking, her dog Nanu, and God.
Surviving sisters include Pegeen Palczak and Aloma Hillenburg. Her children and grandchildren, all surviving, are Quinn Payne and his wife, Cheryl of North Vernon, IN, their daughter Annie Mae Payne ; Elizabeth Fitzgerald-Ellis of Memphis, TN, and her daughter Tiki Williams and son Yarnelle O’Banion; Gerald Lee Payne of Ocala, FL, and his children, daughter Patricia Baker, son Dustin Payne, and daughter Sarah Payne; Tania Payne of Memphis, TN, and her son Naief Mahfoodh; Janeen Wilson of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and her daughter Katelyn Borger; and great-grandchildren.
