Annie Laura "Sister" Sammons Hudspeth, of Memphis, died April 12, 2011 in Los Alamos, NM. She was born April 12, 1925 in Eads, TN. A graduate of Collierville High School, she married her husband, Wade H. Hudspeth, September 1, 1948 at Eads Baptist Church. Mrs. Hudspeth, a retired federal employee, began her career at the Kennedy Veterans Hospital in Memphis. At retirement, she was working with the Army Health Care Recruiting Team in Memphis. She was a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church and the Wisdom Seekers Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Autrey Aubrey and Isabella Luck Sammons and her brothers, Forrest Sammons, Christopher Sammons, Aubrey Sammons, Cecil Sammons and Joseph Sammons. She leaves her husband of 62 years, Wade H. Hudspeth; sons, Steven Hudspeth of Eads and Bruce Hudspeth of Los Alamos, NM; grandsons, Brett and Brent Hudspeth of Los Alamos, NM and her brother, Henry Sammons of Cordova. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Kirby Woods Baptist Church, 6325 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119 with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
