Anne Thrailkill Brauer, 78, of Southaven, MS passed away July 13, 2014 after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Brauer, parents Jeanette and D.S. Thrailkill, sisters Shirley Williams, Sandra Sulcer and brother David Thrailkill. She is survived by daughters, Cay (Sterling, Abbey, Mallory), Carroll (Mike, Shelly, Morgan, Drew, and son Andy (Shane, Shawn) sisters Sheila Wallace (Greg), Valerie Cagle (Martin) and brother Don Thrailkill (Karen). Anne was a graduate of South Side High School in 1954. Anne worked at South Central Bell and later as a school crossing guard at Havenview elementary school. Anne was one of the first Meter Maids hired by the City of Memphis in 1969. In 1974 Anne joined Federal Express and after 20 years finished her career as a Manager in Government Billing. After retirement Anne and Arthur toured the U.S with friends from an R.V. group and enjoyed many good times traveling and camping. Anne was a fantastic bowler winning numerous city and state titles. She enjoyed many good times with friends at the bowling alley, and in 2009 teamed to win the Gold medal in the U.S. Senior Olympics Doubles Bowling event. Anne was a very generous person that was loved by many and her vibrant spirit, competitiveness, and positive attitude will be missed by all. She was a member at Trinity Baptist Church. Visitations will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Poplar from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 17. The service to celebrate her life will be Friday, July 18th at 11 a.m. with burial at Memorial Park Southwoods on Hacks Cross Rd. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family wants to send special regards to Dr. Robert Kraus, Dr. Kurt Tauer and to all of the generous people at West Clinic and Baptist Reynolds Hospice House.
