Anna Jean Poe, 89, who dedicated her life to Jesus and her family, died Jan. 21, 2017, in Collierville. Born in Carthage, Mississippi, on Aug. 30, 1927, she was a long-time Memphian, a faithful member of Collierville Primitive Baptist Church, beloved by family and friends, and known for her hospitality. She is survived by her husband Bobby J. Poe of Memphis; sons Kevin (Vicki) Poe of Walnut, Mississippi, Kendall (Debbie) Poe of Ratcliff, Arkansas, and Walter (Amber) Poe of Memphis; twenty grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clarence B. and Lessie Jolly Mitchell; brothers Clarence and Charles Mitchell; and sister Francis Harrison. The family cordially invites relatives and friends to share remembrances of Mrs. Poe on Monday, January 23rd from five o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at ten o’clock in the morning also at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway in Bartlett.
