Anita G. Clark

Anita Papageorge Glass Clark, 91, a native Memphian, departed this life on June 15, 2015 She was born July 28, 1923 to Sara O. Papageorge and Peter D. Papageorge. She graduated from Humes High School. She had a long business career of more than fifty years. She worked at Sears, St. Mary's Episcopal School, Dowdle Sporting Goods and Suntrust Bank.

She is survived by a son Sidney J. Glass and wife Cathy, of Memphis. A daughter Linda Glass Dowdy and her husband Bill of Blue Mountain, MS. A grandson, Jay T. Glass, also of Memphis.

Her loving brother James P. Papageorge and his wife Elizabeth, of Seattle, WA. Her nephews Michael Hoffman, Gregory Hoffman, Richard Graves, James Papageorge and Thomas Papageorge.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children John T. Glass, her sister Georgia P. Hoffman, her brother in law Charles Hoffman, of Dallas, TX., and a much loved grandson John E. Glass.

A graveside service will be held at Memphis Memory Gardens on Thursday, June 18, at 3:00 pm, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Rd.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorials be sent to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 544 N. Highland St., Memphis, TN 38122 or the charity of your choice.
