Agnes Balestrino Pierotti died peacefully on August 25, 2015. She was born on February 8, 1924, in Memphis, Tennessee, to her parents, the late Peter and Rose Balestrino. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Horace O. Pierotti, her son, Ronald D. Pierotti (Dorothy) and her brother, Robert Balestrino (Ruthie). She is survived by her son, Richard W. Pierotti (Connie) and her five grandchildren, Lauren Mitchell (John), Ronald Pierotti, Jr. (Julie), LouAnne Pierotti (Mother of Lauren and Ronald), Nicholas Pierotti, Shane Pierotti, Colt Pierotti and her two great grandchildren, Marie and Joseph. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ruthie Balestrino and her nieces and nephew, Regina Hatcher (Steve), Renee Despot (Braden), Risa Hemphill (Tim), Rhonda Sceroler (Steve), Robert Balestrino, Jr. (Lynne) and many loving cousins and friends. Agnes was a devout Catholic and graduate of St. Agnes Academy. She also attended Memphis State University. Throughout her life, Agnes enjoyed extensive traveling, cooking, shopping and an intense devotion to family, friends and various church groups. She enjoyed active membership and participation in many organizations including the Madonna Circle, Circle Arts and the Memphis Bar Auxiliary. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Memphis. She will always be remembered by closest family and friends for her delightful Italian meals and desserts. Her love for sharing generations of family recipes was boundless. Agnes was so blessed to have the Blessed Mother appear to her following the death of her son, Ronald. Agnes was known for her love of people and never meeting a stranger. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, at Memphis Funeral Home followed by the Rosary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 28 at St. Louis Catholic Church beginning at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to St. Louis Catholic School or Poor Clares of Memphis.
