Esther M. "Gram" Baker

Born on February 27, 1917 in Alabama Center, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary (Lindke) Schaal.

Esther grew up in Shelby Center and was married to the late Stanley Baker. At one time she was employed with the former H.J. Heinz Co. and lastly, she retired from the Packing Corporation of Lockport, where she worked as a band saw operator for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Western Orleans, the Shelby Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and a life- long member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Medina. In her spare time she enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter -in-law, Sandra M. (Waldo) Caldwell of Albion. Four grandchildren: Wendy L. Pettit; Lori Sheffer; Ronald G. Baker Jr. and Amy J. Sidari, all of Albion. Eleven grandchildren: Ronald G. Baker III and Kurtis Baker, both of Phoenix AZ; Emily and Maxwell Baker, both of Toronto, Canada; Sonya and Evan Sheffer, both of Albion; Jillian Sidari of Brockport; Kristin Sidari of Athens, GA; Keith, Kyle and Gina Sidari, all of Albion. A great-great granddaughter, Shelby Baker of Phoenix, AZ. and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Esther is predeceased by a son Ronald G. Baker Sr. and ten siblings.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1212 West Ave. Medina, NY 14103 with the Pastor, Rev. Peter A. Lindermann officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Medina.

Memorials may be made in Esther’s name to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
