Sue Lehman’s body died on October 13, 2019 after a long fight with breast cancer. Sue will be remembered for her light, love, and kindness. She was funny, funky, hippie dippy, smart, kind, silly, loving, and just all around fantastic. Sue’s life-loving spirit lives on in her husband, Jimmy, her children Kyra, Kathi, Cody, and Katie, her 7 (almost 8) grandchildren, and her sister. Born to Vernon and Loretta Lehman, both of whom survive, she was honored to assist her parents to stay in their home until the cancer made this impossible. A native Oregonian with an adventurous spirit, Sue never let physical challenges slow her down in her love of nature and outdoor hobbies. She was a whitewater rafting enthusiast, snowboarder, joined hunting with her husband (just for the hikes), and zipping along the Oregon dunes in her RZR. Sue’s favorite vacations were month-long motorcycle tours of the American Southwest, spent with her best friend/husband, Jimmy. Sue’s loving spirit was evident in her every interaction. Sue retired as a Sargent from the Corrections Department of the Sheriff's Office. Her career was spent treating all people, co-workers and inmates alike, with dignity and respect. There will not be a service, but we know Sue will be loved and remembered often by those who loved her. To honor her love of animals, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in her name to the Southern Oregon Humane Society.
