Sara was born on March 18th, 1975 in Fresno, California to Yvonne “Cookie” Corado and Charles “Chuck” Thorpe. Throughout her childhood, she moved around between Oregon and California, where she found a true love for the ocean on the beaches of Cayucos. In her teenage years, her family settled down in Southern Oregon where she attended Eagle Point High School, and later graduated from North Medford High School in 1993.
Sara never had one specific job title. She was a mother first, to her three children Cody, Trevor, and Kaileia. She was a wife to her husband Todd, a babysitter and grandmother, or “Gigi” to her grandson Wade, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a best friend. She was a receptionist, a business owner, a professional Costco shopper, a gate agent at the airport, anyone’s saving grace and so much more. She was the first person you would call if you needed help with absolutely anything, and her loss is felt by so many.
Sara had an affinity for living a healthy lifestyle, Mexican food, and the beach. Above all, she valued her family. Sara took pride in caring for Todd, her children and grandson. She loved attending her children’s sporting events, competitions, and celebrations. She was everyone’s biggest fan and strongest supporter.
Sara also had a passion for stock market and finance. She had an eye for things that “just worked”. She had intellect and intuition that was one of a kind. A true and pure soul inside and out.
Prior to her diagnosis, Sara found herself drawn to the Catholic faith. She began taking classes at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and after her diagnosis, felt that God led her there for a reason. She was baptized at Sacred Heart on April 8th, 2023. Though she didn’t always belong to a specific church, she always walked with God and carried His light and love with and through her every day of her life.
Sara truly was an angel walking amongst us. She devoted her entire life to serving other people, and making sure others were happy is where she felt her greatest joy. Her child-like giddiness and beaming, bright presence made anyone who had the pleasure of talking with her feel a sense of comfort and happiness.
Beautiful, kind, selfless, strong-willed, spontaneous, simple, frugal, smart, go-getter, loving, irreplaceable, ... Sara was such a special person with such an amazing soul, and we have no doubt that she has just made Heaven even brighter than it was before.
Sara is survived by her husband, Todd Marthoski, her sisters Lisa, April, and Auto, her children Cody, Trevor, and Kaileia, her daughter in-law Kailey, and her grandson Wade.
There will be a celebration of life on August 24th, 2024 at the Historic Ashland Armory. All whose lives were impacted by Sara in some way are welcome to come.
