It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sanh Ton, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left this world on November 21st, 2024 at the age of 77. Sanh was a remarkable man whose life reflected resilience, courage, and unwavering dedication to his family. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Hoa, who passed away last year.
Born on September 19th, 1947, in Châu Đốc, Vietnam, Sanh overcame profound challenges as a Vietnamese refugee. His American journey began in northern Indiana, where his sponsors welcomed him. He graduated from Indiana University, a testament to his determination for a better life.
Sanh worked as an engineer in the aerospace industry before retiring to Central Point, Oregon, to start a hay farm and build his own home—a testament to his creativity and resourcefulness. He loved to build and invent solutions for everyday problems and spoke Vietnamese, Chinese, English, and Cambodian. His favorite saying was, "Que sera, sera," reflecting his resilient outlook on life.
Sanh is survived by his children, Mimi Ton and Sandhi Ton; son-in-law, Hiep Vu; daughter-in-law, Cassie Ton; and grandson, Kai Ton. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and appreciation for life’s simple joys.
He was cremated on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 3:30pm in Medford, Oregon with his immediate family as witness. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Orange County, CA, with more information to follow soon. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate his extraordinary life.
