Ronnie Wayne Johnson, 70, of Trail, Oregon, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on September 29, 2024. Born on June 8, 1954, in Grants Pass, Oregon, Ronnie lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a heart as big as the land he worked on.
A mechanic and equipment operator by trade, Ronnie ran his own custom haying business, Ron’s Custom Haying, and owned Ron and Mike Automotive, where he could fix just about anything. Known as a bit of a legend in the Trail, Oregon area, Ronnie was highly respected for his love of running heavy equipment, particularly his backhoe, and his incredible work ethic. He also had a passion for landscaping and gardening, and could often be found with a rake in hand, tending to the land he loved.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Howard Johnson; mother, Shirley Louise Johnson (Bartle); and brother, John Dale Johnson. He is survived by his sisters, Debbie Millien and Teresa Hicks; his sons, Michael Wayne Johnson, Mathew Howard Johnson, and Ronnie Wayne Johnson Jr.; his daughter, Sara Dawn Martinez; and 11 beloved grandchildren, all of whom he adored.
Ronnie’s huge heart, generosity, and larger-than-life presence will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and the many friends he made throughout his lifetime.
A service will be held Saturday November 2nd, at 2pm.
