Edward Irwin Holland, loving husband to Linda Holland, passed away from lung cancer on February 9, 2015. He lived sixty-seven years. Born in San Francisco to Stephen and Arleen Holland, on May 6, 1947, Eddie was a very intelligent boy that grew up to love science fiction, fast cars, and motorcycles. At the age of seventeen, Eddie enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve as an expert marksman in the Vietnam War. During his military service to his beloved country, Eddie received a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two stars (two stars representing two campaigns), and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After being honorably discharged from service at the age of twenty-one, Eddie returned to the San Francisco Bay Area where he began his construction career and eventually became a member of the Carpenters Local Union until he retired. Ed and Linda fell in love and blended their families on June 17, 1978 in a backyard wedding ceremony attended by friends and family at their home in Newark, California. There, they raised their daughters Tina and Michelle until they moved the family to Fremont in 1980. After the girls moved away, Ed built Linda her dream home in Kneeland, Ca - a rural community outside of Eureka, and they lived there until moving back to the Bay Area to be care givers to his Aunt Margaret. They remained in California until moving to Medford, Oregon in 2004. Although Eddie’s four grandchildren playfully called him Grumpy, they also knew he was extremely proud of them and loved each one deeply. Eddie is survived by his wife Linda Holland, his sister Ann Halverson and brother Stephen Holland, Nephews Michael Halverson and Steve Holland, Niece Donna Miceli, Daughters Christina Bauer, Michelle Moore-Scaffin, Valerie Holland, and Grandsons Karl Munday, Jordan Bauer, Christian Tracy, and Malcolm Tracy, Jr.
