Betty was born April 12, 1933 in Yuba City, California to Leonard and Ellen Deveraux. She was a member of the Karuk tribe and tribal descendent of the Rogue River (Tututni) tribe.
She graduated from Sutherlin High School in 1951 and settled in the Bay area until returning to Oregon in 1969.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working with her hands, especially crocheting bright colored animals for all the grand and great-children.
Betty is survived by children, William Hoffman, Richard
Cunningham, Edward Cunningham, Victoria Morrison, Betsy
Staten, and Sandra Miller; two brothers, Leonard Deveraux and Bruce Deveraux of Gold Beach, Ore.; 21 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, John H Cunningham; son,
Robert Cunningham; daughter, Kathy Clausen; sisters, Doris
Wiscarson and Carol Ann Deveraux; brothers, Dale Deveraux and Doug Deveraux; and an infant great-grandson, Trayvon Isiah Smith.
