DUNSTON, Henry Harwood, Jr., 95, passed away November 19, 2016. He is survived by his wife of almost 69 years (December 20), Dorothy (Dot) Christian; sons, Bob and his wife, Norma, Jim, David and his wife, Mary; grandchildren, Beth, Emily Adkins and Daniel; one step-granddaughter, Angie Ford and one step-great-grandchild, Sierra Partenope.
He was born in Lorraine, Va. and graduated from John Marshall High School, class of 1939. He served in World War II as a B-26 Bomber pilot in the ETO, completing 65 missions. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1949, with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked at Dominion Virginia Power for 36 years. He was a life-time member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, serving on the Vestry. He was a volunteer at the Science Museum of Virginia for a number of years.
Family visitation will be Wednesday, November 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 520 N. Boulevard, 23220, with a celebration of life service following at 11 a.m. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.
