76, of Topping, VA., passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. He was the loving husband of 56 years to Cynthia Easley McGee; brother of Rebecca McGee Guest of Chattanooga, TN, Jack L. McGee (Rebecca Stokes) of Columbus, MS, uncle of Jerry Guest, Nicole McGee Watkins, Nicholas Watkins and Marcus L. McGee; great uncle of Logan Watkins. He is also survived by many loving in-law siblings, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Edward McGee, Sr., and Nora Inell Shelton McGee.
Forrest graduated from S.D. Lee High School in Columbus, MS in 1965. He came to Richmond in 1987 as one of the founders of Hermitage Steel, INC and served as President until his retirement in 2021 continuing as CEO until his death. Forrest leaves many friends, acquaintances and coworkers who admired and respected his hard work ethics and his kindness. He was known to enjoy many hobbies of hunting, fishing and attending car shows with his "55" Cherry Red Chevy. Forrest especially loved his "Rappahannock Rivah" Family where he and Cynthia resided in Topping, VA, and enjoyed many crab feasts, oyster roasts and celebrations. He was lovingly known as the Pinetop HOA enforcer. Forrest will be missed by many people who appreciated his calm demeanor, his kindness and generosity.
Relatives and friends are invited to Forrest's visitation at Woody Funeral Home- Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, VA on Tuesday, April 23, from 1 PM until time of service at 2 PM.
