I knew Mrs. Hall while working for VACU.  After "Dot" retired the CU was never the same.  She brought so much humanity to a otherwise regular financial institution.  No one ever replaced her and all of us "old time" employees certainly missed her.  More than I once I heard "if Mrs. Hall was still here...."  My condolences go out to her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed.

I worked for the State before they started the Credit Union. I went for a loan and since I was quite young, she gave me some good advice about spending money She was easy to talk and I believe very caring. We will really miss her

Dot was indeed "the Credit Union", but she was my best friend.  I told her many times, that I never looked at her as being an Executive, that first and foremost she was my friend, that she just happen to be the President of the Virginia Credit Union.  I am happy for her that she has gone on to a better place and that she is now reunited with her dear husband Giles.  She will be missed by many, and especially me.  We have been friends since she came to Richmond from the very first day we hit it off, and that relationship continued until she went on to her great reward.  I love Dot and all of her family, they are family to me forever.

I will agree that Dot Hall was the Virginia Credit Union.  Everyone knew her and I remember going to the Credit Union when it was in the Old State Office Building.  She knew you when you came in the door and was ready to help you. She also was a blessing to Cool Spring Baptist Church and we will all miss her.

It was a pleasure to work for such a giving woman. I will miss her. Even after she retired she would call and ask for me. She was always willing to help anyone and everyone. She will always be Virginina Credit Union. Please know that all of you are in my prayers. I know she is leaving a hugh void in the family, but you will always have memories. We are so sorry for your loss.  Mrs. Hall gave so much to the members and employees of Virginia Credit Union.  Her compassion and kindness touched many lives and she will be deeply missed.

Dot was a true friend to me and I will always remember her kindness and compassion for everyone she met.  She had a wonderful gift of remembering everybody's name and something about their family.  To me she was the 'Virginia Credit Union' while she was President/CEO.  Her wonderful smile will be etched in my heart forever.  I'm sure Giles was waiting at Heaven's Gate with open arms to meet her on Tuesday.  What a beautiful sight and I hope all of her family will use that as strength during the days to come.  She loved us all and we loved her.

TO:  Stephanie and All of Dot's Family:  Dot Hall was my friend, and I will miss her bright smile and easy laughter.  At various times in our lives, she was my mentor, teacher, advocate, and supporter, but i will always remember her as my good friend.  I worked with Dot as a member of the Virginia Credit Union's Board of Directors.  Her natural talent and ability to work with everybody on the Board, and her understanding of and compassion for the Credit Union's members, have earned her the genuine love and respect of thousands of people that had the good fortune of knowing her. My sincere sympathies go out to Dot's family. I first met Dot in 1977 when VACU had one office in downtown Richmond. From that time until her retirement, I saw VACU grow as a CU, Dot as a leader and the credit union system grow in Virginia because of her passion for CU members. She was well respected, professional and loved. We will all miss her very much.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family today and the days ahead.  I hope you will find some comfort in your memories of such a wonderful lady.  Mrs. Hall was a remarkable leader and mentor for all of the employees at VACU.  She will be truly missed but never forgotten.

Dot was the VACU and all loved her for how she treated every one.  She will be missed.  I remember Dot from bygone years when I first joined the Credit Union.  Almand Price and Dot Hall were a great team ... believe Mr. Price was one of the people who had to approve loans along with Dot Hall.

Dot was an incredible woman! When I went to work at Virginia Credit Union (VACU), I knew the first time I met her that Dot wasn't just the president of VACU, she was VACU.  Anyone who worked with Dot knows firsthand her loyalty and compassion for not only our members, but to her staff as well.  Dot always found the time to not just hear what people were saying, but to really listen.  She had the rare ability to be a strong leader and still be sensitive to others' needs.  Dot was truly an inspiration to us all and will be dearly missed!
