Cheryl White Wilson

Cheryl White Wilson, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and follower of Christ, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the age of 78. Born on August 23, 1946 in Richmond, VA, Cheryl grew up in Williamsburg, VA, where she cherished her roots and formed a lifelong connection to her community and faith. Cheryl was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald L. Wilson II, with whom she shared a remarkable 57 years of marriage. Meeting as high school sweethearts at just 18 and 19 years old, they stood by and loved each other through all they endured in their life–both good and the bad. They are now at peace with each other again. She is survived by her three sons, Michael Wilson (Lori Westerholm), Chris Wilson (Kimberly Ayres Wilson), and Tim Wilson (Isabel Walter), as well as her cherished grandchildren: Bailey Wilson, Olivia Wilson, and Steven Wilson. Cheryl also leaves behind her cousins, her beloved pup, Cola, and a circle of dear friends who enriched her life. Cheryl’s life was deeply intertwined with her faith. She dedicated countless hours to serving her church communities, including Woodlawn Baptist Church in Hopewell, VA, New Jerusalem Fellowship Church, and Spirit Life Worship Center in Prince George, VA. Cheryl’s contributions were many: teaching young adult Sunday school, supporting the Super Kids ministry, and serving as a secretary. She donated all that she could to support her church and help all of those who she loved and cared for. A wonderful stay-at-home mother with a heart full of love, Cheryl poured her energy into nurturing her children and later carried that same devotion to her grandchildren. Her passions included theater, dance, traveling, dogs, thrifting, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and creating special memories with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but remains forever in our hearts. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. A memorial service for Cheryl White Wilson will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Spirit Life Worship Center, 4605 Romans Road, Prince George, VA 23875.
