Vivian Marie Smith Ramsey

Vivian Marie Ramsey of Crawford died Sunday night, April 8, 2012, at the age of 87. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Rev. Jerry Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Cole Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ramsey was born August 28, 1924, in Indianapolis, Indiana. At an early age she moved to Oklahoma where she was reared and attended school in Stillwell. On November 24, 1945, she married Hubert Clifford “Jack” Ramsey in California. After fifty-four years of marriage, he preceded her in death October 18, 1999. In 1961, she moved to Crawford where she has made her home. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she was active in all phases of the church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed attending and managing estate sales and reading.

Preceding her in death was her father, Robert C. Smith.

Survivors include, three sons, Rodney Ramsey and wife JoAnne of Austin, Bobby Ramsey and wife Celia of Crawford, Arnold Ramsey and wife Janet of Elm Mott; a daughter, Jacklyn Burchard and husband Oscar of Dallas; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Casketbearers will be Jimmy Craig, Billy Gunn, Dave Holmes, Pat Nelson, Larry Plemons and Mike Plemons.
