Minnie Anderson of Crawford died early Saturday morning, May 28, 2011, at the age of 99. Graveside services and interment will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Crawford Cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113, West Fifth Street McGregor with Rev. Jeff Gravens officiating. Visitation will be 7 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.
Mrs. Anderson was born March 7, 1912, in Crawford, Texas, the daughter of the late Joseph Herman and Ida (Englebrecht) Schandler. In 1929, she graduated from Crawford High School. On December 22, 1933, she married R.A. “Speedy” Anderson in Crawford. After sixty-two years of marriage he preceded her in death May 14, 1995.
Minnie was a homemaker who was employed by Cox’s Department Store for about twenty-five years as a sales clerk. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Crawford where she taught Sunday School in the Children’s Department. In the summer, she taught vacation Bible School.
Survivors include a son James A. Anderson of Crawford; a daughter, Linda Kay Talbert and husband Randy of Houston; one granddaughter, Tiffany Flanigan and her husband Shannon of College Station; a grandson, Jason Talbert of Austin; two great grandchildren, Lindsay Flanigan and Sean Flanigan of College Station.
