Mary Louise Gutierrez

Mary Louise Gutierrez, age 84, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 in Waco, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at St. Eugene Catholic Church in McGregor with Father Albert Ruiz officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 at Cole Funeral Home.

Mary was born on August 26, 1938 to Jose Maria Rey Salinas and Maria (Gonzales) Salinas in Angleton, Texas. She was a longtime resident of McGregor, Texas. She attended Oglesby High School. She married the love of her life, Francisco Martinez Gutierrez, II in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1993. Mary worked at the old Providence Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide, Wood’s Sewing Factory as a seamstress in Waco. During her youth she played hardball (First Base) and Basketball. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, web surfing on her own personal computer. She was also an avid New York Yankees fan. Most of all, she enjoyed family time.

She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Richard Salinas Gutierrez.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Salinas Gutierrez of McGregor; sons, Francisco Salinas Gutierrez, III of McGregor and Michael Salinas Gutierrez of McGregor; granddaughter, Victoriana Rose Gutierrez of Arkansas.

Pallbearers: Danny Salinas, Cisco Salinas, Madero Beltran, Joseph Salinas, Patrick Montoya and Gregory Lozano.
