Mark Allen Caswell, age 59, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024 in Moody, Texas. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Moody Church of Christ with Mr. David Echols officiating. Burial to follow in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple, Texas. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service time at the Moody Church of Christ in Moody, Texas.
Mark was born on November 12, 1964 to Jack and Marian Louise (Summers) Caswell in Battle Creek, Michigan. Mark and his family moved to Texas in 1971. They moved to Moody, Texas in 1973, where he resided until his death. He was a long time member of Moody Church of Christ. Mark graduated from Moody High School in 1982. He played football, and participated in band and FFA.
He worked several jobs, then joined the Army in 1987. He served in Korea, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm. Mark was an honorable discharge after sustaining injuries while serving in the military. During his time of service, he received Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Oversea Service Ribbon, Marksman Badge, Rifle South Asia Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, and Kuwait Liberation Medal.
After serving in the military, Mark worked for the United States Postal Service, until his medical retirement.
On April 20, 1996, Mark married the love of his life, Laurie. They were married for 28 years. They adopted their son, Billy in 2008. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling with his family.
Mark was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Grace Caswell, maternal grandparents, Denzel and Eileen Summers, and father, Jack Caswell.
Survivors include his wife, Laurie, son, Billy, daughter in law, Autumn, grandchildren, Hunter and Isabella, mother, Marian, and sister, Valerie. He is also survived by many extended family members- aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Moody Church of Christ.
