Margaret Draper, 95, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 in Waco. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1st at First United Methodist Church in Oglesby, Texas. Interment will follow in Post Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31st at Cole Funeral home in McGregor.
Mrs. Draper was born December 26, 1919 to James Allen and Alene (Baker) Dixon in McGregor, Texas. She was a longtime resident of McGregor, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Oglesby. Margaret graduated from McGregor High School in 1938. She worked for Steakley Chevrolet as a receptionist, and retired in 1985 after 20 years of service. Margaret married Elmer Nolen Draper February 19, 1942 in Waco, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before his death on September 6, 1992.
Mrs. Draper was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother; Dorothy Dixon, brothers; Floyd and Wayne Dixon, sister; Alta Mae Hudson, son; Major David Nolen Draper, and great-grandson; David Nolen Draper, II.
Survivors include daughter-in-law; Sherry Draper of Burleson, grandson; David K Draper and wife, Kaonie, of Burleson, granddaughter; Nicole Liabraaten Lane of Boulder, Colorado, niece; Hope Huffman, of McGregor, great-grandchildren; Alisa K. Draper, Kaylee M. Draper, Katelynn H. Draper, David K. Draper, Jr., Silas L. Liabraaten, and nephews; Tommy Dixon of Dallas and Jack Locke and wife, Sue, of San Antonio.
