Linda Aday Aday Schlottmann

Visitation will be 4 to 6 P.M. Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth St. McGregor. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Private inurnment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Waco, Texas.

Linda was born December 24, 1939, in Waxahachie, Texas, the daughter of the late Samuel Pierce and Aileen (Godwin) Aday, Jr. In 1953, she moved to McGregor where she was a 1957 graduate of McGregor High School. She continued her education at 4-C Business College in Waco. On August 7, 1959, she married Manfred Schlottmann and they were blessed with two sons who she adored. She worked many years with the McGregor ISD as a bookkeeper, special ed aide and was a cheerleader sponsor. Later, she worked as an owner and driver for Schlottmann Trucking. In her earlier years, she coached the Green Soxs and Pink Panthers Little League Baseball and softball teams.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and First United Methodist Church of Waco. She was an avid Baylor fan who enjoyed all Baylor sports, especially football and basketball. She enjoyed spending time with family as well as camping and fishing. She always enjoyed following the sporting events of her two sons as well as her nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death was a brother, Mike Denn; two sisters, Samantha Aday Muirhead, Judith Ann Anderson Cole; her step mother Bobbie Fike Aday; step father, Willis M. “Bud” Denn; her mother, Aileen Godwin Denn; her father, Samuel, P. Aday, Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Chris Schlottman and wife Terri of Arlington, Craig Schlotmann and wife Cathy of Maryland; three sisters, Patricia Aday of Florida, Kathy Groppel and husband Larry of Whitney, Janet Mcelyea and husband Eddie of Waco; a sister-in-law, Lou Denn of McGregor, a granddaughter, Ashley Meadows and husband Seth; two great grandchildren, Chance Meadows, Mackenzie Meadows; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.

Honorary casketbearers will be Johnny Anaya, Jared Macias, Matt Denn, Ricky McIver, Blair Gewertz, Lance Groppel, Manfred Schlottmann and Allen Mitcham.
