Johnny Bubert of McGregor died late Friday Night, June 18, 2010, at the age of 59. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Pastor Walter Klockers officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Cole Funereal Home.
Johnny was born November 29, 1950, in Waco, Texas, the son of the late John Hugh and Willie Opal (Polston) Bubert and attended McGregor High School. On January 4, 1978, he married Cindy Ann Slover in Waco. Johnny, a lifelong, McGregor resident, was a mechanic and a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as an usher. Throughout his life, he enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, being a friend, loving his family and helping others.
Also preceding him in death was a sister, Patricia Ann Bubert, and a grandson, Zachary Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Cindy Bubert; a son Anthony “Andy” Bubert and wife Ashley of McGregor; two daughters, Sandy Rae Gibson and husband Cody, Sarah Taylor and husband Kenneth both of McGregor; a sister Brenda Bubert of Austin and six grandchildren.
