Joe Mikeska

Joe Mikeska of McGregor died Saturday morning, January 29, 2011, at the age of 20. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Revs. Curtis Jones, Jim Fitzhugh and D.L. Summers officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak Cemetery near Oglesby. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.

Joe was born November 29, 1990, in Fort Hood, Texas. In 1997, he moved to McGregor from Moody where he was a 2009 graduate of McGregor High School where he participated in the young Marines and various art competitions. He was a life-long member of Victory Chapel in McGregor. Throughout his life, he enjoyed drawing, music, cooking and tasting various types of spicy foods.

Survivors include his parents, Gene and Tammy Mikeska; a sister, Christiana Seymour; maternal grandparents, Roberta and Tommy Norwood; paternal grandparents, Gene and Marcy Mikeska and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
