Jimmy Dean Thornton

Mr. Jimmy Dean Thornton, age 79, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 in Moody, Texas. A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Moody with Mr. Jerry Cagle officiating on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

Jimmy was on September 6, 1943 James Lee and Jessie (Cagle) Thornton in Amarillo, Texas. He graduated from Catalina High School in Tucson, Arizona.

Jimmy worked for Bechtel as an Electrical Engineer building Nuclear Power Plants for 20 years. He also owned and operated a Commercial Carpet Cleaning Service for 15 years. Jimmy married the love of his life, Carol Kirby on October 13, 1973 in Camby, Indiana. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening and especially cooking. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was precede in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Thornton of Moody; son, Paul Thornton and wife, Stephanie of High Point, North Carolina; daughter, Rachel Carol Thornton of Euless, Liz Lawson and husband, Clay of Luling; grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Autumn, Bristol, Jude, Alice, Cash, Isabela, Ethan, Fynn, Cameron, and Lauren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
