James Stephen Odom

James Stephen Odom of McGregor died Sunday afternoon, April 24, 2011, at the age of 68. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Reverend Daniel Alder officiating. Private inurnment will be in Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Mr. Odom was born March 6, 1943, in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Clethen and Clemmie Ima (Dugan) Odom where he attended school. For four years, he served his country in the United Air Force. About thirty years ago he moved to Oglesby where he has been employed as a welder with Unique Machine Shop. For the last several years, he has lived in McGregor. Throughout his life he has enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Also preceding him in death was a sister Janett and a brother Thomas Adams.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Istre of Elton, LA; a brother, John Adams of New Caney; two boys that he reared and considered his sons, Shane and Justin Druppel both of McGregor.
