H.G. Wagnon

H.G. Wagnon of McGregor died early Wednesday morning, November 7, 2012, at the age of 83. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Pastor Walter Klockers officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at Cole Funeral Home.

Mr. Wagnon was born April 10, 1929, in Little River, Texas, the son of the late Hugh Monroe and Grace Leona (Robinson) Wagnon. Much of his life was spent in the diesel mechanic industry with his more recent employment being with Foster Wheeler in McGregor until his retirement in 1985.

On July 30, 1950, he married Vernita Lehrmann at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor. Since moving to McGregor in 1950 from Little River, he has called McGregor his home. Throughout his life, he has enjoyed going to garage sales and making many walking wooden canes.

Also preceding him in death was a grandson, Michael Andrew Lella.

Survivors include his wife Vernita Wagnon of McGregor; a son Larry Wagnon of McGregor; a daughter, Linda Lella of McGregor; three grandchildren, Melissa Pevehouse and husband Chris, of McKinney, Amy Lella, Michelle Lella both of McGregor; a great grandson, Michael Austin Lella of McGregor.
