Emma “Emmie” Lange of McGregor died Saturday morning, October 1, 2011 at the age of 84. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street with Pastor Walter Klockers officiating. Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park in Waco, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lange was born December 20, 1926, in Brenham, Texas, the daughter of the late John and Emma( Knuppel) Naumann and attended school in Washington County, Texas. She was reared in Brenham before moving to Waco in 1942. In 1948, she moved to McGregor and married William Fritz Lange on May 20, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor. After thirty-eight years of marriage, he preceded her in death August 28, 1987. She worked with Jo Carol Schraeder as a seamstress in drapery business for several years and was later employed as a baker for the McGregor School District for nine years.
She was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church of McGregor where she taught Sunday School, assisted with Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Ladies Circle. She was a member of the Bryant Oliver American Legion Auxiliary in McGregor. She enjoyed cooking for community events to include the McGregor Lion’s Club and Rotary Club.
Survivors include four daughters, Wanda Derrick and husband Jerry, Deborah Madore both of Waco, Diane Crain and husband Glenn, III of Gatesville, Althea Rogers and husband Toney, III of Crawford; grandchildren, Melissa Treszoks-Balderas and husband Danny of San Antonio, Eric Treszoks of Waco, Jason Madore and wife Barbara of Wiley, Joshua Sparks of College Station, Austin Rogers, Savannah Rogers both of Crawford; great grandchildren, Adrian Balderas and Noah Balderas of San Antonio, Brennan Madore and Bryce Madore of Wiley; a half sister, Margaret Klaehn of Fredricksburg and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews and friends.
Casketbearers will be Jason Madore, Austin Rogers, Savannah Rogers, John Sneed, Josh Sparks and Eric Treszoks.
