Dennis Ray Harbour was born to Frederick and Dorothy (Greer) Harbour on February 7, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas. He was part of the Robinson High School Class of 1967. Dennis served in the First Cav Armored Tank Division of the US Army and later in the Texas National Guard. For 17 years, Dennis delivered smiles and bread as a route salesman with Rainbo Bread. He never met a stranger and always greeted people as if they were old friends. He also enjoyed working as a security guard, armored car driver, and helping customers at Radio Shack. Dennis married his life-long best friend and the love of his life, Charmain, on January 1, 1995. They spent many years growing roses together and having adventures with their children and grandchildren and in recent years, their great granddaughter. He was also a proud lifetime member of the NRA and gun collector. Dennis always had the perfect music for any occasion, as a classic rock lover and he made a round of golf very interesting. He never met a dog he didn’t need to pet and possibly bring home.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Dorothy Harbour; oldest daughter, Melissa Denise Favors, infant granddaughter, Ashley; and infant grandson, Warren.
He is survived by his wife, Charmain; daughters, Amy White and husband, Steve; Mindy Sassman and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Johnathan Nichols, Steven Nichols, Samantha White, Alex White, Jordan Peterson, Charles Favors, Jacob Sassman, Emily Sassman, Savanna White; many “bonus kids”, and extended family who will miss him greatly.
The family would like to thank the outstanding team at the Waco West Fresenius Kidney Center and the Interim Home Health team for their years of care and support. They would also like to thank the team at St. Catherine’s and a special thanks to Kevin and the hospice team at Community Healthcare of Texas.
