The Lord called another great one home, as Darlene Vinson Daniels, 55, passed away Sunday, February 21, surrounded by loved ones at her home in McGregor. Darlene was born March 31, 1960 and was a graduate of Ennis High School Class of 1978. A devoted member of Roberson Chapel AME Church, and an active member in the McGregor community, Darlene left a lasting impression on anyone she came in contact with. Darlene spent more than 25 years at Smead Manufacturing, and after its closing, went back to college at McLennan Community College to obtain an Associate’s Degree and 2 certificates (with Honors) in Mental Health and Youth Counseling.
Darlene leaves behind a loving husband, Robert, and together they raised two strong, young men – Brandon of Washington, DC and Brian of Austin. She also leaves behind her Mother, Jessie Mae Vinson of Ennis; her sisters Lisa Whitby (Leroy Whitby) of Little Elm, Regina Hewitt (Chris Hewitt) of Lewisville, Virginia Basarich (Thomas Basarich) of Sioux City, Iowa, Lena Cook of Ennis, Dorothy Vinson of Ennis; her brothers Larry Connor of Ennis and Paul Connor of Ennis; and her aunt Jennie Johnson of Ennis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
In heaven, Darlene is reunited with her father Richard Vinson, brothers Roy Vinson (Shela Vinson) and Richard Charles Vinson, and her sisters Vanessa Robinson and Patricia Vinson.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, at Roberson Chapel AME Church, 303 Arthur Street, McGregor, TX 76657.
